Personal Profile
- I am a resident of the city of Dunedin having been born here in
1960.
- I attended Otago University and graduated with a BA (Hons) and
LLB.
- I was admitted in December 1984.
- I worked as an employed solicitor with a varied and general civil
litigation practice until 1 April 1996 when I commenced practice on my
own account as a barrister sole.
- I practise from Chambers which I share with other barristers in
Dunedin.
- I am a member of the Otago District Law Society and the New Zealand
Bar Association.
- I practise strictly in accordance with the English practice of a
barrister. By that I mean I accept instructions only via solicitors.
- I regard my role as being either to help clients avoid a problem or
if the problem is unavoidable then to see the problem resolved as
expeditiously and cost effectively as possible. To that end I do not
focus solely on litigation as a solution to a clients difficulty but
also try to explore with the client other options of solving the
problem.
